How is typing speed calculated? / टाइपिंग स्पीड की गणना कैसे होती है?
1 word = 5 key depressions (letters, spaces and punctuation marks all count). / 1 शब्द = 5 की-स्ट्रोक (अक्षर, स्पेस और विराम चिह्न सभी गिने जाते हैं)।

Half mistake (½) / आधी गलती:
- Wrong capital or small letter / गलत बड़ा-छोटा अक्षर
- Wrong or missing punctuation mark / गलत या छूटा विराम चिह्न
- Extra or missing space between words / शब्दों के बीच अतिरिक्त या छूटा स्पेस
- Two words typed in swapped order / दो शब्दों का क्रम उलटा
Untick “Count half mistakes” to count every mistake as a full mistake. A missed or extra word is counted only once; the words after it are not marked wrong.
“आधी गलती गिनें” हटाने पर हर गलती पूरी गिनी जाएगी। छूटा या अतिरिक्त शब्द केवल एक बार गिना जाता है।
Example / उदाहरण: 2,000 key depressions in 15 minutes, 300 passage words attempted, 4 full and 2 half mistakes.
Gross WPM = (2000 ÷ 5) ÷ 15 = 26.7
KDPH = (2000 ÷ 900) × 3600 = 8,000
Mistakes = 4 + (2 × ½) = 5
Error % = (5 ÷ 300) × 100 = 1.67%
Net WPM = 26.7 − (5 ÷ 15) = 26.3
Set “Required speed” and “Allowed error %” above to match your exam. Mistake rules and limits differ between recruiting bodies, posts and categories, so always check your official notification.
