The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important notice regarding CUET (UG) 2026 for candidates facing identity verification issues. As per the official notification, some candidates’ photographs captured during the application process do not match with Aadhaar records, which may create problems during examination verification.
NTA has now provided a special opportunity for such candidates to correct this issue by submitting a valid certificate along with a recent photograph. Candidates must complete this process within the given timeline to avoid any trouble on exam day.

What is the Issue?
According to the notice, after completion of the application process, NTA observed that some candidates uploaded identity proof documents other than an Aadhaar Card, and in several cases, the live photograph captured during registration did not match with UIDAI records.
This mismatch can create problems during entry and verification at the exam centre, which is why NTA has taken this corrective step.

What Candidates Need to Do
Affected candidates must upload a signed and attested certificate along with a recent photograph. The certificate must confirm the candidate’s identity and match the application details.
The certificate should be verified by any of the following authorities:
- School / College Principal
- Headmaster
- Class-I Gazetted Officer (Tehsildar, SDM, DM, Revenue Officer, etc.)
- Indian Embassy Officer (for NRI candidates)
If school authorities are not available, candidates can choose any Class-I Gazetted Officer for attestation.
Certificate Format Details
As shown in the Annexure (page 2 of the notice), the certificate must include:
- Candidate name and application number
- Confirmation of appearing in CUET UG 2026
- School details
- Attesting authority name and designation
- Signature and official stamp
Also, the signature must partially overlap the photograph to ensure authenticity.
How to Upload a Certificate
Candidates need to upload the certificate in PDF format through the link sent to their registered email ID. The upload must be completed between 07 April and 10 April 2026.
Additionally, candidates must carry a printed copy of the same certificate to the exam centre for physical verification on exam day.
