The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has issued important corrigenda, modifying the examination scheme for various technical and teaching posts advertised under numbers 04/2024, 05/2024, and 06/2023. The changes, effective as of July 8, 2025, primarily concern the application of minimum qualifying marks in One-Tier and Two-Tier examinations.
The modifications were announced through three separate notices and aim to clarify the qualifying criteria for candidates appearing for these competitive exams. The core amendment across all three advertisements is that for technical and teaching posts, the mandatory minimum qualifying marks will now be applicable only to the domain-specific subject section (Section B or Section A/Part I, depending on the tier), while the general section will not have a minimum qualifying threshold. However, the final merit will be based on the combined marks of all sections.
Here is a detailed breakdown of the revised examination scheme:
Changes for One-Tier Technical and Technical/ Teaching Examinations
For posts under the One-Tier examination scheme, the following changes have been implemented:
- Previous Rule: The earlier notifications for advertisements 04/2024 and 05/2024 stated that for technical or technical/ teaching posts, the minimum qualifying marks would only apply to Section B (the domain-specific subject).
- Revised Rule: The updated scheme confirms that mandatory minimum qualifying marks are applicable only to Section B. There will be no minimum qualifying marks for Section A. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks of both Section A and Section B.
Changes for Two-Tier Technical Examinations
Significant adjustments have also been made to the Two-Tier examination structure for posts advertised under 06/2023, 04/2024, and 05/2024.
- Previous Rule for Advt. 06/2023: For technical postcodes, the minimum qualifying marks were only applicable to Section B, with the final merit list being prepared from the combined aggregate marks of both Section A and Section B.
- Revised Rule for All Three Advertisements:
- Tier-I Examination: The mandatory minimum qualifying marks will be applicable only to the domain-specific section, which is Section B. There will be no minimum qualifying marks for Section A. However, the combined marks of both sections will be used for shortlisting candidates for the Tier-II examination.
- Tier-II Examination: The mandatory minimum qualifying marks will now be applicable to the domain-specific part, designated as Section A/Part-I. There will be no minimum qualifying marks for Section B/Part-II. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks of both parts of the Tier-II exam.
These changes have been made with the approval of the competent authority and all other content within the original advertisements (06/2023, 04/2024, and 05/2024) will remain unchanged. The notice related to the DSSSB Exam Pattern change has been released on 8 July 2025.
The specific posts that fall under these advertisements are varied and candidates are advised to refer to the original notifications for details. Advertisement 06/2023, for example, included a range of technical posts. Similarly, advertisements 04/2024 and 05/2024 covered various technical and teaching positions. Candidates who have applied for posts under these advertisements should take careful note of these significant changes to the examination and qualifying criteria.
