Goa SIR Voter List 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the Goa SIR Draft Electoral Roll 2025 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. This voter list revision has been conducted to update and clean the electoral roll by removing the names of dead, duplicate, permanently shifted, and untraceable voters. The exercise aims to ensure a more accurate and transparent voter database before the upcoming elections.

Officials stated that Goa, with an electorate of around 11.8 lakh voters, has undergone detailed field verification during this SIR exercise. Preliminary assessments suggest that nearly one lakh voter names may be removed from the draft electoral roll due to discrepancies such as multiple registrations, migration, or non-verifiable addresses.

After the draft roll release, voters have been advised to carefully check their name, spelling, address, and other personal details. Those who find their names missing or incorrectly recorded can submit claims or objections within the notified period, allowing corrections to be made before the final voter list is published.

This SIR process is particularly important for voters who have recently changed residence, whose family members’ names are missing from the list, or whose voter record had pending corrections earlier.

After the claims and objections period is completed, all applications will be verified, and the final electoral roll will be published in February 2026. The Election Commission has reiterated that the objective of SIR is to clean and update the electoral roll without excluding genuine voters.
