JEE Main 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the JEE Main 2026 Notification along with the detailed information bulletin. The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 will be conducted in two sessions – January and April 2026, just like previous years. Candidates planning to appear for B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Planning admissions in top engineering colleges like NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs can now check all the important details here.
Overview of JEE Main 2026
JEE Main is India’s most popular engineering entrance test conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate programs such as B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning. The exam also acts as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to IITs. The 2026 examination will be conducted twice to give candidates two chances to improve their scores.

JEE Main 2026 Application Fee
For Exam Centers in India:
- General (Male): ₹1000 | Female: ₹800
- Gen-EWS/OBC (Male): ₹900 | Female: ₹800
- SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹500
For Centers Outside India:
- General (Male): ₹5000 | Female: ₹4000
- OBC/EWS (Male): ₹4500 | Female: ₹4000

Mode and Pattern of Examination
JEE Main 2026 will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, except for the Drawing Test of B.Arch, which will be conducted offline on paper.
Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech):
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Total Marks: 300
- Type: MCQs and Numerical Value Questions
Paper 2A (B.Arch):
- Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test
- Total Marks: 400
Paper 2B (B.Planning):
- Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning-Based Questions
- Total Marks: 400
Each subject has 20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions. Negative marking of -1 applies to both types of questions.
Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2026
- Age Limit: No age restriction. Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026 can apply.
- Qualifying Exam: Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Year of Passing: Candidates who passed Class 12 before 2023 are not eligible.
Language Options
JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates must choose their language carefully while filling the form, as it cannot be changed later.
Reservation Policy
As per the Government of India rules:
- GEN-EWS: 10%
- OBC (NCL): 27%
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- PwBD: 5% in each category
How to Apply for JEE Main 2026
- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Register online to get your application number and password.
- Fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details.
- Upload scanned documents – photograph, signature, Class 10 mark sheet, and PwD certificate (if applicable).
- Pay the examination fee online through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
- Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
Admit Card and Result
The admit card for each session will be available 3–4 days before the exam on the NTA website. Results for Session 1 and Session 2 will be declared on 12 February 2026 and 20 April 2026, respectively. The best of the two NTA scores will be used for ranking purposes.
