Jharkhand TET (JTET) 2026: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi, has officially released the notification for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026. This exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts in Primary (Class 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8) schools in Jharkhand. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website within the given dates. Jharkhand TET (JTET) 2026 Notification has been released on 28 March 2026 and the online applications are invited from 21 April to 21 May 2026.
The notification clearly states that JTET is only a qualifying eligibility test, and passing this exam does not guarantee a job. Candidates must carefully check the eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and other important instructions before applying.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria
For Primary Level (Class 1 to 5), candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or equivalent. Candidates with 45% marks in 12th are also eligible as per NCTE norms. Apart from this, candidates with Graduation + D.El.Ed or those who have completed a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply. Candidates with 12th + Diploma in Special Education are also eligible.
For Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8), candidates must have a Graduation degree along with D.El.Ed or B.Ed. Candidates who have completed 4-year integrated courses like BA B.Ed / B.Sc B.Ed are also eligible. Additionally, candidates with B.Ed in Special Education or equivalent qualification can also apply.
Candidates must ensure that their qualifications are recognized by NCTE or relevant authorities.
Special Education Eligibility
Candidates with special education qualifications are also eligible under JTET 2026. Eligible qualifications include:
- Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed Special Education)
- Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR)
- Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) Diploma
- Diploma in Hearing Language & Speech (DHLS)
- Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation
- Any other RCI approved qualification related to special education
Candidates must have a valid RCI registration number wherever applicable.

JTET 2026 will have two levels:
