RRB Station Master Exam Pattern 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have published the selection process, exam pattern and syllabus for the Station Master posts in CEN No. 08/2026. This is the first time Station Master posts have been notified separately from NTPC, and the exam pattern is completely new. Selection is through a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) and a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), followed by Document Verification and a Medical Examination. The CBT has 100 questions for 100 marks, with 120 minutes to complete it and one-third negative marking.
The biggest change from NTPC is the syllabus. There is no General Awareness section. The CBT now tests Basic Science, Mathematics, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, English Reading Comprehension and Mental Reasoning. The CBAT also counts for 30% of the final merit, so practise psychometric aptitude tests along with your CBT preparation.

- The CBAT is a psychometric aptitude test, and questions are only in English and Hindi.
- You need a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery to qualify. There is no relaxation for any category.
- There is no negative marking in the CBAT.

Candidates equal to the number of vacancies (1:1) are then called for Document Verification, according to their merit and Railway choice. If two candidates have the same marks, the older one ranks higher. If their ages are also the same, the tie is broken by the alphabetical order of their first name.
