DSSSB DASS Grade-2 Exam Pattern 2026: Check Syllabus Tier-1 & Tier-2 Exam Scheme For Post Code 804/26 & 90/09

DSSSB DASS Grade-2 Exam Pattern 2026 and Syllabus: The DSSSB recently released Advt 01/2026 Post Code 804/26 for the DASS Grade-2 recruitment of 606 Posts. The DSSSB Post Code 90/09 candidates are also eligible for this recruitment. The DSSSB DASS Grade-2 & Assistant Section Officer (ASO) examination will be conducted in Two Tiers. Tier-I is conducted for shortlisting candidates, while Tier-II consists of both Objective and Descriptive papers. Candidates should understand the complete exam pattern before starting their preparation. The DSSSB has released the DASS Grade-2 Tier-1 Official Syllabus on 25 August 2026.

Important Points

Candidates should keep the following points in mind while preparing for the DSSSB DASS Grade-2 examination:

  • Tier-I examination is only qualifying in nature and used for shortlisting only. However, mandatory minimum qualifying marks criteria will be applicable in Tier-I Examination.
  • Further, selection will be made based on cumulative marks obtained in Part-I & Part-II of Tier-II examination.
  • The mandatory minimum qualifying marks criteria will be applicable on cumulative marks obtained in Part – I (MCQ) & Part – II (Descriptive) of Tier – II examination. There will not be any mandatory minimum qualifying marks criteria for Part – I (MCQ) and Part – II (Descriptive) separately.
  • The examination will be bilingual (Hindi & English) except for the language papers, which will be in the language concerned only.
  • Negative marking will be applicable:
    • 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect 1-mark MCQ.

Tier-I Exam Overview

Tier-I consists of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question carries 1 mark, and there is negative marking for incorrect answers.

General Awareness40 MarksQuestions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test knowledge of Current Events and of such matter of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/ International Organizations/ Institutions etc.
General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability40 MarksThe syllabus of General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.
Arithmetical & Numerical Ability40 MarksThe test of Arithmetical & Numerical Abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs etc.
Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension40 MarksQuestions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the Hindi Language, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.
Test of English Language & Comprehension40 MarksQuestions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English Language, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.
