West Bengal SIR Voter List 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the West Bengal SIR Draft Electoral Roll 2025 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. This voter list revision has been carried out to clean and update the electoral roll by removing the names of dead, duplicate, permanently shifted, and untraceable voters. The exercise is aimed at making the voter database more accurate and reliable ahead of upcoming elections.

According to officials, extensive field-level verification was conducted across West Bengal during this SIR exercise. Preliminary assessments indicate that around 58 lakh voters may be removed from the draft voter list due to various discrepancies identified during verification, including multiple registrations and untraceable addresses.

After the draft roll release, voters have been advised to carefully verify their name, spelling, address, and other personal details. Those whose names are missing or incorrectly entered can submit claims or objections within the prescribed period, allowing corrections to be made before the final voter list is published.

This SIR process is essential for voters who have recently changed residence, whose family members’ names were deleted, or whose voter record had any pending corrections earlier.

West Bengal SIR Draft Electoral Roll Important Dates

After the completion of the claims and objections process, all applications will be examined, and the final electoral roll will be published in February 2026. The Election Commission has clarified that the objective of SIR is not to exclude genuine voters, but to ensure that the electoral roll remains clean, updated, and free from errors.
