SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Examination, 2025. Earlier, the result of the Computer Based Examination (CBE) was declared on 28 November 2025. Candidates who qualified in the examination and appeared in the Stenography Skill Test were considered for the allocation process.
As per the SSC notice, the First Round of Tentative Allocation has been conducted in accordance with the Sliding Mechanism introduced by the Commission. Candidates who submitted their online option-cum-preference between 05 May 2026 and 08 May 2026 have been considered for further selection.

Skill Test Cut-Off Criteria
Stenographer Grade C
- UR Candidates: Up to 5% mistakes allowed.
- Reserved Category Candidates: Up to 7% mistakes allowed.
Stenographer Grade D
- UR Candidates: Up to 7% mistakes allowed.
- Reserved Category Candidates: Up to 10% mistakes allowed.
Selection Process
The allocation of posts and departments has been made on the basis of:
- Merit secured by candidates.
- Online order of preference submitted by candidates.
- Availability of vacancies.
- Category-wise eligibility and reservation provisions.
Only candidates who submitted their preferences online were considered for allocation.
Tie-Breaking Rules
In cases where candidates secured equal aggregate marks in the Computer Based Examination, SSC resolved ties using the following order:
- Higher marks in Part-III (English Language & Comprehension).
- Higher marks in Part-II (General Awareness).
- Older candidate based on Date of Birth.
- Alphabetical order of candidate names.
Important Information
- A total of 8,624 candidates qualified for the Skill Test for Stenographer Grade ‘C’.
- A total of 22,456 candidates qualified for the Skill Test for Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
- 4,907 candidates appeared in the Grade ‘C’ Skill Test.
- 12,564 candidates appeared in the Grade ‘D’ Skill Test.
- Two candidates’ candidature has been cancelled.
- Seven candidates have been debarred by the concerned regional offices.
- SSC has introduced a Sliding Mechanism to maximize vacancy utilization and provide fair opportunities to candidates.
