CLAT 2027: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially released the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 Notification on 2 August 2026. Age Limit, Eligibility, and Qualification
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the CLAT 2027 UG Programme. Age Relaxation will be given as per the rules.
Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 (or an equivalent) examination with a minimum of:

Candidates appearing for their qualifying (Class 12) examination in March/April 2027 are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam at the time of admission, failing which they will lose their right to admission. Foreign Nationals are not eligible to appear for CLAT and must approach respective NLUs directly for admission.

The admission process for CLAT 2027 includes the following stages:

Tie-Breaking Rule: In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, preference will be given first to higher marks in the Legal Reasoning section, then to higher age, and finally by a computerised draw of lots.
How to Apply for CLAT 2027
Follow these steps to apply for CLAT 2027:

- Register using a personal mobile number and email ID
- Validate registration via OTP sent to the mobile number
- Log in using the registered mobile number and password
- Fill in personal, academic, and category details carefully
- Upload required documents (see list below)
- Pay the application fee online
- Submit the form and save/print the confirmation page
Documents Required for Upload:
- Front-facing passport-size photograph with plain background
- Signature of the candidate
- Category certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants)
- PWD certificate (if applicable)
- BPL certificate (if applicable)
All documents must be uploaded in PDF format. Note: Once the application is submitted and fee paid, the program, category, and BPL field cannot be changed.
